Apéro dinatoire with our neighbors … thanks to Pierre for coming over with a fab crab terrine.

Rhone Valley hitting 38°C as we drove up from Bellegarde today … not my idea of fun (in a non-A/C car) but we’re back safe and sound in Paris - we arrived with the thunderstorms!

We’re down to about 60 people, but the wedding fiesta goes on and on … super food, marvelous ambiance and Bernard singing, to boot!

Hot, hot hot (as Buster Pointdexter sang) here today … no THOs

Hang on to your hats, it’s both the longest day of the year and the day of the annual (formerly French, now thoughout Europe) blow-out: la Fête de la Musique. We’ll be hitting mostly our neighborhood with friends, both local and imported.

BTW: Jean-Paul Sartre, considered the father of existentialism, was born 100 years ago today. How would he celebrate "la Fête de la Musique"?

We’re headed out to the Rosebud tonight for dinner with Don & Judy. Taste buds are already tingling!

UPDATE: Stayed until well past midnight since after dinner (merci, M. Don) we were joined by Cathy & Bernard (the neighbors of the title!). Excellent meal, wine and post-prandial conversation. Vive le Rosebud, vivent les amis!
